Daisychain Run 2004

SUNDAY 9TH MAY

IN MEMORY OF NEVILLE MOGER

Now in its thirteenth year, the annual Daisychain motorcycle run is due to ride out through the New Forest on Sunday 9th May.

This years run will as ever be held for the Wessex Cancer Trust. This years run will also be held in Memory of Neville Moger, who was killed in a helicopter crash in December. Neville's three children were orphaned as a result of the accident, after losing their mother to leukaemia two years ago. The boys had already asked for donations to the Daisychain run in lieu of flowers at their fathers funeral. They will this year be leading the rideout of hopefully thousands of motorcycles with their uncle Glenn. The family have been supporting the event since its start in 1991. They hope that this year will be again a success and held raise even more for the WCT.

At the Start of this years event, those taking part will also be able to see a cheque handover. Last years run and treasure hunt raised a staggering £10,500.

Organiser Gilly Jones said "I was amazed by how many people took part in last years event, with pouring rain, I thought we would have our first bad year. But I was proved wrong, motorcyclists are a hardy bunch and everyone supported the event well. Our first Treasure Hunt was also a great day, with groups of people riding around the Forest to try and find the answers to Steve Bradstocks challenging clues. I realised also how much the run means to those who take part, Paddy Hinton started the event following the death of his father, I held the 2001 event in memory of my mother, but when you are told that three boys all under 16 want to support the event after what they have been through in the last few weeks, it makes you humble, and more determined to make this years run better than ever"

The run will meet at Totton Civic Centre at 11.00. The Cheque presentation will follow, and the run will leave at 11.30. The route will be through the Forest and the event will end with it's normal Fun, laughs, band and auction at Gang Warily in Fawley.

If you are interested in taking part please register via e-mail.
